Ranthambhor National Park is situated in south-west Rajasthan, where the Vindhayas and the Aravalli Hills meet, the Ranthambhor National Park is bound by the rivers Chambal in the south and Banas in the north. Characterised by rocky plains, flat hill tops, gentle slopes and precipitous cliffs, covered by dry deciduous forest. Ranthambhor is virtually an island rich in flora and fauna in an ocean of villages, farmland and other grazed arid land.

Ranthambhore National Park:
Ranthambore National Park Situated in Eastern Rajasthan, where the Aravali Hill ranges and the Vindhyan plateau meet, the Ranthambhore National Park was once the hunting preserve of the Maharajas of Jaipur. The rivers Chambal in the South and Banas in the North bound the Ranthambore National Park.

How to reach:
Nearest airport is Jaipur (175 kms). Nearest railhead is Sawai-Madhopur (12 kms) which is on the Bombay-Delhi section of Western Railway. Ranthambore is connected by regular bus service to Sawai-Madhopur and Indian roads.

Seasons: October-June, the best period being December-April.
